Mother’s Day Gift Ideas for Every Kind of Mom

Can't figure out what to get mom for Mother's Day? Browse these photo-themed gift ideas – there's one for every kind of mom.

For the chef mom…

If your mom's food is still the main reason you head home for the holidays, and if you're more likely to find her in the kitchen (even when everyone else is eating), gift her a personalised mug or set of placemats. You can customise them with photos of the family, of her, or of her favourite, home-cooked, dishes.

For the hobbyist mom…

If your mom is all about the baking / horse riding / dancing / yoga / pottery / race-car driving, why not create a personalised photobook, filled with images of her favourite hobby. Use photos of her doing her hobby, amazing pics of others doing it in action, or quotes about the hobby.

For the arts and crafts mom…

Some mothers are born arts and crafts gurus. They can scrapbook all day and papier-mâché all night. Those moms will love cute and quirky gifts, like personalised snow globes and – our favourite – hardwood tree decorations. Why not give her a full set, so she can make a whole family-themed tree in December?

For the photographer mom…

If your mother never puts down the camera, consider choosing some of her best work, and printing it on high-quality canvases for her home. Choose a skinny canvas for a sleeker look, or print one image across three, six or nine tiled canvas blocks for a more contemporary and fresh feel.

For the mom who has everything…

Let's be honest, we've gone through a lot of Mother's Days. You've probably given your mom almost everything she could need. If it feels like she already has it all, get her a RapidStudio gift card. They're beautifully designed, thoughtful and will let her pick and choose the photobook or print she'd like the most.

Tip 9 : Aligning and Spacing in Rapidstudio

We often want to create a collage of photo's as a page design. Most of the time we are not totally confident in creating this type of layout in Rapidstudio, as you have to be accurate in your aligning and spacing of pictures. In this tutorial I will be explaining how to create a collage of pictures on a page, as it covers most of the alignment and spacing topics.
I hope this tutorial will help you realise your design intent more accurately and efficiently.
You will probably start with a page layout something similar to this

We are going to start with top row of pictures. The following explanation only refers to the top row, we will be dealing with the rest of the images a bit later.

Creative Ideas for a Post-Holiday Photobook

Here’s how to turn your holiday photos into a creative, must-keep photobook.

Returning home after a holiday can leave you with the post-travel blues. As you wash your bikini, shake the sand out of your sneakers, and try to revive the house plants you haven’t watered for two weeks, you begin to long for the lazy days of a vacation.

But, just because you’re home, doesn’t mean the holiday fun is over. Gather your memories up and create a photobook of your trip. Putting it together is a fun way to keep the holiday feeling alive, plus you can look back on it, to get yourself ready for next December (or April. We’re coming for you, public holidays).

Create a #Hashtag If you went on holiday with a few friends or family members, make sure that everyone uploads their pics to Instagram using a unique hashtag you create, like #SmithFamilyHoliday2017. Check it doesn’t exist already! That way, when you create the photobook, you can search for the hashtag, and find every photo that was taken. An ea…
