RapidStudio Walk The Talk - Walking The Talk

What did you get up to on the weekend? Ever want to do something fun and memorable that contributes to a better world? Well, here at RapidStudio, we love to get involved in community events and support charities doing fabulous work. Plus, we love to have fun while helping others!
The RapidStudio team got together at the end of July to brave the winter cold and Walkthe Talk

Some of the team members before we started walking! Smile...
Walk the Talk was a super opportunity to join together for a special charity. We had fifty people in our team. All of us dressed in yellow and completed the 8km event, bouncing off each other’s positive vibe.

As we started on our 8km walk

Walk the Talk. Own the City. Feel the Energy.

Those words proved true for us. Strolling through the leafy suburbs of Greenside and Emmarentia was a community in step with each other. The photos are great! How special it was to claim the city streets for so many worthwhile charities and put any care of crime out of our minds. That’s not to say that we all got off without incident. Some of us were quite stiff the day after, but all of us were smiling, knowing that we had done some good with our walk.

RapidStudio walked to honour the memory of Gugu Zulu, an amazing man who tragically died climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the same charity RapidStudio is supporting; Trek for Mandela. Gugu Zulu was not just a champion rally driver and a charismatic TV presenter. He was a man dedicated to his community and to making South Africa a better place.

Trek for Mandela is a unique and powerful charity that improves the health and education of underprivileged girls in marginalised communities. Girls from marginalised backgrounds miss up to 50 days of school every year due to menstrual challenges. By providing sanitary pads to school age girls, along with menstrual health education, the Trek for Mandela charity is changing young lives for the better.

RapidStudio is proud to support Trek for Mandela and is committed to a culture of community support. In the spirit of togetherness, come and join RapidStudio and donate to Trek for Mandela. Every bit helps!

Tip 9 : Aligning and Spacing in Rapidstudio

We often want to create a collage of photo's as a page design. Most of the time we are not totally confident in creating this type of layout in Rapidstudio, as you have to be accurate in your aligning and spacing of pictures. In this tutorial I will be explaining how to create a collage of pictures on a page, as it covers most of the alignment and spacing topics.
I hope this tutorial will help you realise your design intent more accurately and efficiently.
You will probably start with a page layout something similar to this

We are going to start with top row of pictures. The following explanation only refers to the top row, we will be dealing with the rest of the images a bit later.
First of all we need to move the pictures next to each other horizontally to see if they will fit in the "Safe Area" of the page. In this example the pictures are too wide and overlap the safe area horizontally. Please note that you will have to leave a decent amount of space between the safe …

Creative Ideas for a Post-Holiday Photobook

Here’s how to turn your holiday photos into a creative, must-keep photobook.

Returning home after a holiday can leave you with the post-travel blues. As you wash your bikini, shake the sand out of your sneakers, and try to revive the house plants you haven’t watered for two weeks, you begin to long for the lazy days of a vacation.

But, just because you’re home, doesn’t mean the holiday fun is over. Gather your memories up and create a photobook of your trip. Putting it together is a fun way to keep the holiday feeling alive, plus you can look back on it, to get yourself ready for next December (or April. We’re coming for you, public holidays).

Create a #Hashtag If you went on holiday with a few friends or family members, make sure that everyone uploads their pics to Instagram using a unique hashtag you create, like #SmithFamilyHoliday2017. Check it doesn’t exist already! That way, when you create the photobook, you can search for the hashtag, and find every photo that was taken. An ea…
